I've wrestled with an alligator, I've tussled with a whale; handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail; only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick; I'm so mean I make medicine sick.

Why did I start boxing?

00:00:00

Well... it's faster than chess, and much more exciting!

But all jokes aside. I always wanted to box, but as life goes... I always found an excuse. The result? I only got into boxing when I started losing my sight.

Thanks to the dedication of Mrs. Alexandra Šporová from Tyfloservis, I met Rudolf Stránský at the Karlovy Vary Karate Club. Ruda wasn't afraid of training a blind person in a contact sport and dived straight into my training.

Later, he entrusted me to Emil Gaspár. He has a unique way of motivating: "Keep working, you have the physique of a turkey with polio!" That definitely makes you squeeze out every last drop of sweat.

I've been going there for several years now. I found a great bunch of people where everyone is equal – from the warehouse worker to the doctor. They accepted me as one of their own, and I am truly happy among those punching bags.

Have a question about training?
