About Me
Hi there. The fact that you are reading these lines means that you have made it through my home page and want to find out a bit more about me. Alright, here it is: My name is Zdeněk Doležal, but my friends call me Zdéňa.
Who I am and where I come from
I come from Ostrov and I am a blind fellow. I was born in Ostrov and went through the typical process of nursery, kindergarten, and elementary school. After that, I trained as a mechanical fitter (locksmith) at Škoda Ostrov. I can no longer perform this profession due to my handicap, but it was an important stage of my journey.
After my apprenticeship, I worked in various places. I tried the profession of a tinsmith and roofer, and I also bagged cat litter sand. Even that job was quite enjoyable for me.
My path to massage therapy
As time went by, my eyesight began to deteriorate. I write about the progress of this disability in a separate chapter called Blind Appendix. Thanks to the organizations Tyflocentrum and Tyfloservis, I got into a massage therapy course at the Dědina center in Prague.
Currently, I practice the craft of massage at the Center for the Disabled in Karlovy Vary - Rybáře. So come on by, I'd be happy to see you!
Hobbies and Interests
I am a big fan of products from the Apple company. These devices make my life much easier because they speak to me via VoiceOver.
Another major hobby of mine is boxing. I have been training regularly for several years at the Karlovy Vary Karate Club. Besides that, I enjoy making up my own fairy tales, which you can check out in the Fairy Tale World section.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who stands by me and supports me even in moments that are not exactly OK.
